Rafael van der Vaart is a former Dutch professional footballer born on February 11, 1983. He started his career at Ajax Amsterdam in 2001 and quickly became a major star, winning three Eredivisie titles and the Johan Cruyff Shield during his time there.
He later moved to Hamburg SV and played for clubs such as Real Madrid, Tottenham Hotspur, and Real Betis. Van der Vaart was an attacking midfielder known for his vision, passing ability, and long-range strikes.
He represented the Netherlands national team 109 times, scoring 25 goals and participating in two World Cups and three European Championships.
After retiring from football in 2018, he worked as a sports commentator and analyst. Van der Vaart also had a personal life in the public eye, being married to model Sylvie Meis and appearing on reality TV shows.
